As I write this, the Academy Awards show is in progress.
We’re not watching it.
I’m not really interested in award shows – not Academy Awards (Oscar), Grammy, Emmy, Golden Globe, People’s Choice, SAG, – not any of them.
At one time, some of the award show were a bit interesting, honoring the “best” of the film and music industries. To me, they seem to have evolved to a kind of boring semi-reality entertainment presented on an annual basis where “beautiful” people play dress-up and watch other “beautiful” people get awards. These days, I don’t even have a clue who many of them are.
I haven’t watched any award shows in a few years, but from the little I’ve seen on the news and promos related to the shows, I don’t think I’m missing much.
