I wasn’t familiar with Fibonacci numbers — or, if I ever was, forgot about them — until an 2008 episode of Fringe that I watched this week. In it, three bank safety deposit boxes had been stolen from different banks in different cities. The box numbers were determined to be from the Fibonacci series, which allowed the team to predict the number of the 4th box — but, they still didn’t know what bank and what city.
