Exit78 Photo of the Day #46
Several years ago, on a hike in Colorado National Monument near Grand Junction, I took a picture of a little tree growing out of a rock up-side-down.

Four years later, we took the same trail and found that the tree had not survived the harsh seasonal environment and limited nutrients available to it.

Oh poor tree – though I’m not surprised … good that you were able to see what had occurred over the shortish duration … and it did as well as possible to start with … Happy Easter and cheers – Hilary
We never would have noticed, of course, except that it was growing up-side-down and, then, when we took the trail again, I knew about where it had been and was looking for it.
