Sitting it out in Missoula, Montana, August 23 and 24, 2014.
It rained all night – and the forecast was for more rain, with the possibility of snow at higher elevations, like the campground we were in, so we decided to leave a day early and wait out the weather in an RV park in Missoula.
When we stopped for lunch at a rest area along the interstate, the temperature had only made it to 50°F.
It actually stopped raining by the time we got in the RV park and rained very little during the time that we were there. Because of the forecast of rain and, possibly, snow at our next destination, we stayed in Missoula two days before venturing north.
The RV park was fairly good, with more space between sites than some we’ve been in.
Next up: we head to Glacier.

Hi Mike – the weather can have its moments can’t it … well at least you had little rain at the 2nd stop …
The weather … I hope for another warm one – but guess we need cold to kill off ‘de bugs’ – we are now moving into autumn – gone are the T shirts and flimsy outer-wear … chilling down and cooler – windows aren’t so open … cheers Hilary

It sure can, Hilary. We’ve actually had pretty good weather most of the trip. And back home in Arkansas, the weather had been unusually cool and summer heat finally arrived after we left on our trip – now, it’s moving into autumn, so, this year, we totally avoided the heat of the Arkansas summer.

Are you sure that you are not in Ireland? The weather this trip sounds very Irish to me.
I was waking to brightness and early sun until a couple of days ago, The days are already shorter and cooler here. Almost time to bring out my gloves.

If we were in Ireland, it wouldn’t take us so long to get from one destination to the next. 😉
We actually enjoyed pretty good weather for the next couple of weeks after this – then we waited out the weather again in Casper, Wyoming — and actually got snow.
