Quilting space

Exit78 Photo of the Day #102

Karen’s working area has undergone a complete makeover over the last year or so.  Part of a fairly old house, the room is an odd shape, only 9 feet wide and the last third slopes from the normal 8 feet down to just over 6. Knotty pine planking on the wall, laminate and a rug on the floor, and cedar planking on the ceiling, combined with new track lighting and a large storage area (not shown), leaves the room with a totally new and different feeling.

Thanks! I’ve added a couple of floating shelves above her computer table since that photo was taken.

She does like it. Along with the room remodel, she got two new work tables that I “made.” Her computer table, on the far end of the room, was assembled from an unfinished wood table top and 4 legs at just the right height for computing. The other table is a multi-function table. In the picture it is set up for machine quilting. She also uses it as a cutting table. I found an adjustable height mechanism for this one and all she has to do is operate a hand crank to raise and lower it.
