Record one-day snow at Norway House, Canada
The Winnipeg Sun reports 3 feet (90cm) of snow at Norway House likely smashes the Manitoba record for a one day snow fall, previously 76.2 cm .
Norway House only has ever record that much snow on the ground at one time once, but that snow didn’t come all in one day.
Reports say that snow is drifting five to six feet high.
Summer snow at Falls Creek, Australia
Six centimeters of snow fell on overnight, with the ground turned white overnight on the “official” fifth day of summer, according to weatherzone.
With wind chill dropping to as low as minus 6°C, temperatures “are in a sort of mid-winter chill.”
Despite heat records being broken the week before, more snow was expected.
In the mean time, Melbourne was dealing with high winds with gusts up to 129 km/hr.
Heavy snow in Sweden delays trains and planes
Göteborg Daily says, between 50,000 and 60,000 passengers were expected to be affected by problems at Arlanda and Bromma airports.
On Wednesday morning, some train services between Stockholm and Gothenburg were delayed by around two hours.
Huge snowstorm in Alps
2/6/2012 – In some places over half a metre has fallen and resorts that have opened are forced to close. An avalanche has buried two people in Tignes. The winds are high and there is serious danger of avalanche elsewhere. PlanetSKI reports from the Alps.

Around 11 o’clock Wednesday morning, snow began falling in Seoul but within an hour, had accumulated with such speed forcing the Korea Meteorological Administration to issue a heavy snow advisory for the region. (Arirang)
Eastern Turkey swept by snow and cold weather
43 village cut off – Roads blocked by snow.
Eastern parts of the country were struck by cold weather on Thursday, with some provinces buffeted by heavy snowfall.
In Erzurum, temperatures fell to as low as eight degrees below zero, while 43 village roads were blocked due to snow. Teams from the Special Provincial Directorate were mobilized to remove snow from the roads to restore access to the villages.
