Over a Year of Blogging!

I don’t write much of anything “about me” on my blogs and that’s intentional. I’ve got a lot more interesting stuff to post. This post, though is about my blogging.

It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do with blogging. In the fall of 2004, I started a blog, Chronicles of the American Civil War, where I initially just posted material from various civil war era material. Then, in January 2005, I started posting news articles and diary entries from the corresponding date in 1861.

By December 31, I had posted 3831 items ranging from the inauguration of Abraham Lincoln, to the firing on Fort Sumter, the debacle at Bull Run, and the navy and army expedition to Port Royal. I’ve been learning about the civil war throught the writings of the times.

Chronicles of the American Civil War continues in 2006, with posts from the corresponding day in 1862, along with my three other blogs, each of which normally has one or more posts a day.
