Glacier National Park, Montana April 16, 2015
Though I wish it was, this photo isn’t one of mine. I took quite a few photos at or near this same vantage point at Apgar Village. However, all were taken before dark. We were not at all keen about being out after dark when a mountain lion was known to be on the prowl in and around Apgar Campground.

Hi Mike .. I remember the Mountain Lion visit .. and can quite see why you stayed in and didn’t get out to photograph the Milky Way those nights… stunning photo though .. shows how much is up there … well some of it!
Cheers Hilary

We’ve been able to see some stunning nighttime skies, well away from cities and other light “pollution” over the years. It would have been neat to see the aurora — we were far enough north.

Yes, better safe than sorry! I’m glad you found a picture of it, though.

I’m glad, too. It’s quite a striking image.

This photo is stunning… Wow! It does make me think of the song, Under the Milky Way by The Church.

The location is pretty cool… I wish it was close — we would seriously be frequent visitors. 😉
