Hi Mike – love the colour! and the car … and the pride the owners have for their vehicles over the years .. fantastic to see – cheers Hilary
This always part of the annual Fall Festival. I’ve seen similar car shows attached to festivals around the country. While some of the vehicles have been faithfully maintained over the years, a lot of them have also been lovingly restored. A friend obtained a 1960s Lincoln a few year back and restored it to near original condition. It was the same year and model as the one that Kennedy was riding in when he was shot in Dallas in 1963.
Not quite the colour but in just plain black colour, this was a very popular model in India in the forties and fifties. They eventually ended up with their engines replaced with diesel tractor engines and became taxis in rural parts. Diesel because it was subsidised for the farm sector and it still is here.
I think the norm was black here, too, but they were available in other colors.
