Google Made Good on the Check

The Mobile Jones Google check fiasco, described in her original blog post and an update, was heard around the world.

It also apparently got Google’s attention, which Ms. Jones describes in another post, Google Adsense Nonsense Final Chapter.

Interestingly, while Mobile Jones traffic exploded in response to exposure on “high profile” blogs and news portals, she reaped no immediate financial gain as she had removed all Google AdSense code prior to posting about her problem with Google. She explained her reasoning on her blog. “The point of posting about this situation was not to serve as link bait and drive traffic for monetization purposes, but to humanize this problem and get Google’s attention.”

It worked. She was able to cash the check, even though Google checks are supposed to be for deposit only.

She’s also closing her Google AdSense account.

I originally wrote about this here.
