Living in a southern rural area with a small city less than a half an hour a way, we do have access to a small farmer’s market. However, the number of producers who sell at the local market is few, so what little “fresh produce” we use comes from the supermarket.
Little Rock has a much larger farmer’s market that is open every Sunday from the beginning of May though the end of October in two outdoor, open-air pavilions in the River Market, “filled with farm-fresh produce straight from the backs of the trucks.”
However, Little Rock is over an hour’s drive away for us and we’ve only been to the farmers marker in Little Rock one time, in 2009, when I took the photos below:

Hi Mike – I sometimes don’t even drive out to our local farm shop – because I have to get in the car and drive … as I can walk to town and a good local supermarket – that’s what I do. But I must say a farmer’s market is a delight to walk around in the warmth of a sunny day … and only catering for one – there’s only so much I can eat …
I just wish farmers well … doing what they love best and letting us have the opportunity to purchase fresh produce …
Over here .. they’re trying to use up the bread that’s thrown away each day … by re-cycling it into a brand of beer – and seems to have good tasty results – I haven’t tried it! Cheers Hilary

We really enjoy the Dane County, Wisconsin Farmers Market. It is absolutely huge, in the warmer months completely surrounding the Wisconsin state capitol building on the immediately adjacent street.
