I was up in the air on it, but went with the shape of the buds, which are like what I found in a google image search for peonies. Rose buds come to much more of a point that these.

Hi Mike – I can see that … I did have a look around at some images … and I guess they are smaller peonies, than those we get in the UK, or those I’ve seen here … love the colour – and they are gorgeous flowers … I used to get my mother some, which she adored and could enjoy when she was so ill.
