1886 oil on canvas painting by Eloise Harriet Stannard (1829-1915)
Eloise Harriet Stannard was one of fourteen children of Alfred Stannard, brother of Joseph Stannard, both important landscape painters of the Norwich School in England. The painting is in the Museum of John Paul II Collection in Warsaw, Poland, established in 1989 in the building of the former stock exchange and National Bank.

Hi Mike – what a great painting … she’s not that well-known seemingly … well I thought so … but see now – the BBC featured her in a programme series entitled “Your Paintings” … lovely work and I’ll definitely keep an eye out for her works should I ever visit Norfolk.
