New York Scenes, Summer 2001

RememberI still had the folder open with the images from our 2001 visit to New York City -  the folder with the image I used to create Remember – so, on impulse, I created an photo stack montage, with an image of the World Trade Center on top of the “stack.”

Mike,

This is tough. I have some photos of the Twin Towers, as well and it’s hard to look at them. I don’t think I ever could have imagined that what happened on 9/11 could have happened. I remember being in front of the TV just stunned. I couldn’t move.

I can’t imagine what it must have been like for the people who were there when all this happened. The fear and the heartbreak. It’s not easy to forget that day and maybe that’s a good thing.

Thanks:~)

It is tough. We don’t watch any of the memorials on TV any more, but Saturday, on MSNBC, we watched the actual NBC broadcast footage from that morning. This time, knowing that it was coming, I saw the 2nd plane coming in and disappear behind the first tower, followed by the explosion of flames out of the second tower. We watched for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
