My travel souvenirs

August 13, 2010

We don’t buy souvenirs often.

As much as we travel, we don’t have enough room for any travel collectables.

However, I do have souvenirs of the places we’ve been – my photos.

And, boy, do I have a lot of them.

The picture below shows just the photo folders on my computer for this trip.  I’ve completed going through the photos in the folders that have the long names.  They are ready for the next step, which is to create an online photo gallery with the processed images.

We do have internet access here in Custer State Park, so will be catching up on stuff and possibly prepping some posts.

We’re like you. Our souvenirs are mostly photos. :)

Actually, I use portable hard-drives. Everything from before the trip is on the computer and on three portable hard drives — one of them is with us, one is sitting in the computer/sewing room at home and the last one is in a safety deposit box at our bank.

Hi Mike,

That is a lot of photos. I don’t know about you, but I find I end up taking a lot because I know many will not turn out or be to my liking. In fact, whenever I take photos of people, I always insist on two. (You know how someone always seems to have their eyes closed in one). :)

I probably take too many photos. I need to take fewer images and concentrate more on getting my camera settings right and the image in good focus. I’ve been doing more photography with manual settings instead of full auto and I find that I forget to return the camera to auto after shooting in manual. I’m getting more poor images because of that, but I am also getting better images sometimes when I shoot in manual.
