Moraine Park Twilight

February 18, 2010

Moraine Meadows, smoke from California fires, 9-1-2009

The smoke, which enhanced the twilight in this photo of the mountains above Moraine Park and the people viewing elk, is actually from fires that were burning in California.

Pretty, despite the cause! It would make a nice poster.

Dot – Thanks!

Haze and/or smoke at sunrise or sunset often has the potential of making more spectacular photographs, especially in a setting that is already spectacular. Unfortunately, during the rest of the day in the same conditions, the splendor is hidden or muted. ;)

Hi Mike,

I really like this photo. The haze/smoke make it one of a kind.

Barbara – Thanks! It was pretty neat to see and the photos will help retain the memories of that evening.
