Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho, it’s….

January 17, 2008

That’s right. The funding for my contract was approved. I start next Wednesday. It’s a 26 week gig, 40 hours a week.

The money is good — a bit less than I was hoping for, but more than the minimum I would have accepted. No per diem as it’s a local job. Of course, this is in addition to my pension, plus we won’t have to touch our investments this year.

With this “bump” in my plans, I won’t be spending a lot of time trying to monetize my sites for a while.

Mike, something’s wrong with your “The BIG BUMP revealed” link as it takes me to your admin login page instead of a post.

Thanks Dan, fixed ;)

Well, Congratulations, Mike! That is great! Looking forward to seeing some posts about your work adventures.

Thanks teeni! ;)

I doubt that I’ll be posting many things about any work adventures. Most of it’s pretty boring unless you’re involved with it, and some things that might be interesting, I wouldn’t post on Exit78 because people from work and other retirees occasionally take a look to see what I’m posting. On a rare occasion, some have commented here.

LOL! Okay, then. You are just going to have to have a more interesting life outside of work to post about then. No pressure though. ;)

Congratulations Mike, I knew you would receive it. I think it’s a smart move to keep the work activities quiet you don’t want to potentially offend any of your coworkers by talking about your work activities on a public blog.

Best wishes on your new project.

Thanks! ;) I think I should be able to handle it since it’s precisely what I did before I retired.

Well done Mike. Hopefully you will still get time to blog too. Hopefully some more of those restaurant posts, which are great. You seem to have something odd happen to you everytime you visit a restaurant.

Thanks Catherine ;) We actually eat out more often that we should and, usually, it’s all pretty normal, so there’s usually nothing to write about. I’m sure I’ll have time to blog. I was doing it before I retired, so I should still be able to now that I’m contracting.
