Gorgeous. I love the fence, too — fits in nicely with the environment while still providing a bit of a barrier so people don’t topple into that canyon.
Thanks! The fence does add to the perspective. Unfortunately, though, wherever there are barriers, there will be people who bypass them, I subscribe to the National Park Service press release feed. There have already been multiple deaths from falls where people went where they weren’t supposed to.
Ok… so I sound like a broken record, but… another amazing shot, Mike. I feel the pull to walk to the edge and peer over it. And I’m afraid of heights! Also, I just checked out the pic of the setting sun at Canton Lake on your previous post and again, wow. I can see the halo around the sun.
As always, thanks. While I’m not “afraid” of heights, I do have a healthy respect for them and a “deep” appreciation of barriers. (Of course, after falling off a ladder last week, I have an even greater, for now, respect of heights.
Wow
That is some photo and some canyon.
Scares me just looking at it.
Feel safer now… just spotted the fence.
If that were Europe there wouldn’t be a fence, just a notice saying “Mind the drop”. LOL
Some drop – what sort of depth are we looking at Mike?

Thanks. At some points, the vertical drop from the rim to the floor can be as much as 2000 feet.
I really should get out and hike more (love the photo!).
