On Wednesday, another retiree — who I’ve known for over 25 years — went back to work on contract, the same day that I did. He’s working in another part of the training organization from the one I’m working in.
It just so happens, though, that his son is an “in-house” employee in that same organization.
Since he has been contracted to work primarily in a support role, there may be times that he’ll be providing support for his son.
He told me today that he didn’t have problem with doing whatever they needed for him to do, but that his son might have a little bit of a problem telling his dad what he wanted done.

Ah, the old role switcheroo.
Currently my kid has NO prob telling me what to do. Is this a new generational thing?

I can definitely see where that could cause an issue, but I figure in highly technical field they would be able to work it through.

Jannie – His “kid” is in his mid 30s and it’s s little different in a work environment.
Debo – Knowing both of them, I’m sure they will work through it just fine.
Family dynamics are so interesting.

Mike, at home now there are, my father, I and my son Ranjan. No women other than the daily help who spends a few hours every day. Can you guess what is going on? It is an amazing experience, particularly when you consider that each of us is fiercely independent.
