I’ve been working on publishing this photo gallery for several days, but have had a number of distractions — from having problems with software to a severe storm that cut off our power and, eventually, led to the loss of water pressure.
The Mammoth Cave National Park photo gallery is now up, though, with pictures from our two days visiting near the end of May.
Here’s a few images from the gallery:

Hi Mike,
What beautiful photos of the cave. I’ve never been in one, but have heard they are pretty awesome. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Hi Mike. I was just about to comment on the photo of the cave and see that it also caught Barbara’s eye. I’d love to visit one.

Apart from appreciating the photographs, I must express my relief that everything seems to be alright with you. Congratulations.

Barbara,
Thanks! They can be very awesome. We’ve visited several caves over the years. There is one at Branson, Missouri’s Silver Dollar City that we’ve done several times, since it’s part of the admission to the theme park.
Davina,
If you ever get the chance, I’d recommend it.
Ramana,
Double thanks!
Wow. I LOVE the photo gallery. You know, someday TGH and I will be travelling somewhere and I’m going to see a tall man with a white beard taking photos of something and I’m gonna just go up to him and say, “Mike Goad, is that you?” And I think it will be.

Nice photos, especially in the dim cave light. I went through Luray Caverns once but only had a small cheap camera. Wish I’d taken better photos then.
teeni – thanks!
Actually, I don’t always have the beard and, since Karen has gone back to coloring her hair, I was thinking of trying it myself. I’d look 20 year younger if my hair was brown instead of gray.
Just kidding! I’m not about to change the color of my hair.
Dot – Thanks. It’s hard to get good photos in a cave.
Luray sounded familiar and then I realized that we had seen a lot of advertising for that when we were driving from Shenandoah NP to Harpers Ferry.
Hi, Mike!
I know the cave you are referring to in Branson. Marvel Cave in Silver Dollar City is awesome! I’m happy you’ve been there before.
I actually live in Branson and I go to SDC at least 4 or 5 times each year. Marvel Cave never gets old and I’m always amazed when I see it.
We live a couple of hours from Branson. While we don’t go every year, we do get up there on occasion. We try to do it outside of the heaviest season and try to keep off the main highway as much as possible. That has gotten so much easier than when we first started visiting in the late 70s.
