Wednesday Weigh-In

November 26, 2008

No progress this week…

Thursday morning, when I was to have a tooth extracted, I woke up with a low-grade fever and cancelled the appointment.

I had been having occasional days of not feeling well for a couple of weeks.  This time, though, it was accompanied by chills in the evening.  Down and out for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, too.

On Monday, I felt better and headed in to go to the fitness center.  By the time that I got there, I was feeling less okay and diverted to the clinic we use where I was able to get an appointment for 4 P.M with the doctor I normally see.

Diagnosis: bladder infection.  Identified by lab results as my other symptoms were non-existent by that time.

Tuesday — better, but not up to working out.

The next few days will be a challenge with the Thanksgiving holiday.  It is also the fitness center’s annual fix-up, clean-up, and paint-up period, so they will be closed from the end of business hours until 5 A.M. on Monday.  If the weather cooperates, we’ll have to get out and do some walking.

Hope you are feeling better…shall we save some turkey for you…

Feeling much better and our turkey is in the frig, ready to go for tomorrow, even though it is just for the two of us for the first time in…, hmmm, 35 years! (Our youngest daughter is in Wisconsin and our oldest daughter has to work early on Friday — she and her significant other were here yesterday)

Glad you’re feeling better.

A moderate weight gain is normal during the holidays… :)

Hi Mike – i didn’t realise you were on a fitness campaign. The bladder infection sounds painful tho – hope you get plenty of rest and feeling heaps better soon.

Vered – Thanks! hope I can buck the norm with a moderate or better loss ;)

Cath – Thanks! I am feeling much better. In fact, I didn’t realize quite how much under the weather I’ve been feeling — until I began feeling better. So far as a fitness campaign, it’s almost normal for me to be “getting back to the fitness center.” The good thing about that is that it usually doesn’t take quite as long to get up to speed in my workouts.

Can I give you a cyber back rub Mike?
I feel it my duty as a Blog To Fit administrator to come on over and sooth and then DEMAND THAT YOU GET WITH THE PROGRAMME AGAIN!

Sorry you’ve been unwell (that’s a pretty good excuse!) but I’m sure you’ll be up and at em soon.

Hi Mike, get well soon! Make sure you are better before you start punishing your body with exercise. Sounds like you could use a period of rest so it’s good the fitness center is closed. :)

As long as you stay on the fitness wagon, a short break won’t harm – and it might help!

Mike, I’m hoping you are feeling well now. Get better before you start pushing yourself again…. week 2 will be a better week. :D
