Last week = 275.5 lbs.
This week = 274.5 lbs.
I worked out at least an hour a day six times in the last week.
Today’s workout was my best best intensity and endurance yet, at least since I got back to being serious about this. I used an elliptical trainer for 65 minutes and walked for about 5 minutes. My average heart rate was 144 bpm and max was 164 bpm. I don’t plan on pushing much past this at my age.
I’m still not ready to start trying to run even a little bit yet.
My resting heart rate has dropped significantly since I started working out again.

Patricia – Thanks, this Wednesday Weigh-In is helping give me the motivation to keep at it.
I find it is very motivating too – and it is nice not to be alone on this part of my journey – thank you Mike

Good for you, not only for achieving this, but for pacing yourself carefully. 65 minutes on the elliptical — my idea of hell on earth.

Mike, that’s some great progress. I wish I had the time to work in an hour a day workout! Keep it up and let us know how it’s going!

Have you heard the joke about the wife complaining to her husband that he’s doubled his weight since their wedding day and she’s worried because she’s now only legally married to half of him?
XUP’s last blog post..OK, so Saturday’s Valentine’s Day…
Way to go! And of course muscle weighs more than fat so you are most likely slimming down more than the scales show.
I actually got out 4 days in a row for my runs this week, twice for only 2 miles, but still, I’m moving it.

Dot – Thanks, I know that the elliptical is not for everyone and that, for many, any kind of exercising can be difficult. Since I am physically able to do it, I push myself, but I also have my ipod, loaded with my music, of course, and I do a lot of thinking and planning while I am “working” out.
Neil – Thanks, I plan to keep posting every week, even when I don’t do so well.
XUP – Ha! So, I guess if she’s dissatisfied, she only has to get half a divorce.
Jannie – Thanks! I’m going to get back to running eventually. I’ve gone this route before and, if it works out close to the same, I’ll get to a point where I can just start running. I’m not even close to there, yet.
