  1. I wonder if it’s sunrise or sunset. Seems like sunset to me. I like sunset images. There’s something relaxing about the end of the day; that is, when you actually have the time to watch and enjoy it.

  2. When I was working with it, I assumed that it was a sunset. Then I realized that, for railroad workers, it might not matter. However, I suspect it is sunset, because the information said that it is a picture of a switch engine. That means local traffic moving boxcars around. Most likely that wouldn’t start until after sunrise.

But, then again, it was war years and who knows what hours they were working.

    Maybe it’s a sunrise.

  3. I really like this one!! Beautiful!!

  4. I like it a lot, too. There are a lot of neat vintage photos on the Library of Congress site. I enjoy editing them to really bring out the hidden beauty — and eliminate some problems. This one, for instance, had three electrical or communication wires stretched across the image.
