A Scene in the Sand Hills

The sand hills prairie is not normally this luxuriant, especially this time of year. Higher than normal amounts of rainfall resulted in the sand hills being greener and with taller growth.

Well, that does seem pretty lush right now so I’ll take your word for it! But I’m sure that they don’t call them “sand hills” for nothing. ;)

They are actually ancient sand dunes covered with vegetation, like the Sahara, with grasses of all kinds… ;)
