That’s an interesting shot. They look flat rather than 3D from that perspective.

I saw a documentary on this monument years ago. I was surprised by how much work and how many years went into creating it. And how much maintenance it requires.

We’ve been to Rushmore twice. It’s a rather interesting place to visit. Unfortunately, because it is so familiar and such an American tourist icon, the part of the park that most people see is very crowded. However, the trail that goes closer to the base of the mountain is far less crowded. It’s well built and a good part of it is actually board walk. (We were surprised to see the trail and boardwalk in American Treasure II after we had just visited that area.)
