Still no power and it gets even worse ….

no water and no power

We went to Little Rock today, as planned, despite the storm debris that needs to be picked up in the yard — and the tree and branches that need to be cut up.

We didn’t stay long — just did a little shopping and visited with our daughter and son-in-law before heading home.

Not long after we got home we discovered that we didn’t have any water pressure.

No power and, now, no water.

Great.  :(

So…, we headed back into town to buy some water for drinking, flushing, and, cooking.  I’m sure there’ll be a boil water order to use water out of the tap until testing shows the water is safe to drink.  At 72¢ a gallon, though, it’s worth it not to have to deal with having to boiling water.

Then we went for pizza.

We’ll be sleeping in the camper tonight — sure is nice to have a generator and a cool place to sleep as the weather has turned warm and humid.

The good news — there are lots of Entergy (local electric power company — and my former employer) crews in the area working on the power problem

Ugh – sorry to hear that you’re without power AND water. We’ve had violent storms but little damage, so far. We did spend a fair amount of Thursday evening in the basement, though, for the first time. Usually the mountains break up straight-line winds and developing tornadoes before they get here, but we were being warned via the TV and, after we lost reception, the weather radio, that both were headed right for Mt. Gaylor. Luckily, it blew over without much trouble. But our renovation/construction plans are of course being held up.

Leslie,
We get tornado warnings from channel 7 in Little Rock by home phone, both cell phones and e-mail to both of us though an inexpensive automated service. It would not have done any good in Thursday’s storm, though as the only tornado was identified a day or so after the fact and I’m pretty sure it was spawned out of the cell that hit us so hard.

We have power and water back now — worked today on cleanup. I’ll likely sleep hard tonight and wake up sore tomorrow.

Whoa! That is a lot of damage. Those storms sure do make a mess but I am glad you didn’t have worse damage or any injuries. Those greenish photos are freaky. But I guess those storms ARE freaky.

teeni – (not Tenni or eeni) – Yeah, we are lucky and the storm WAS freaky — but interesting.
