The weather was much different. It had been a colder winter overall and, on February 9, 2011, we had our second snow in a week – and it was a very respectable snowfall.
This year, our warmer-than-normal winter has returned to seasonal temperatures, but we’ve not had any snow or ice since sometime in November or December, and that wasn’t much.

Ours is dropping below normal here, too — and we have a “snow event” forecast for Sunday night and Monday. Most of the early daffodils are already blooming.
We had two severe winters, this time round we are still waiting. They had snow on mainland UK this week but thankfully it missed us. Maybe it will arrive with the Easter bunny!
Looks like our first measurable accumulation is still on track for tomorrow — probably no more than 4 inches, then it’s supposed to warm a bit.
Hi Mike – not sure where Grannymar is … but we had dry snow down here .. so it was iced up and made life pretty miserable .. thankfully it’s gone, but they’re threatening more at the weekend – on the south coast we don’t usually get a great deal .. cheers for now .. Hilary
