Cath - Sorry it took so long to reply to this comment. I'm in the process of clearing out my old e-mail and that includes e-mail notification about comments on my blogs.

For me, there are two problems with Calgary. First of all, it's a big city -- we live in the country -- and, second, it's TOO cold for TOO long.

However, we could probably get over those two problems. We've only been through Calgary once, in 2001, and the main thing that I remember about it is the traffic. However, it is quite close to the Canadian Rockies. We stayed about a week in a place called Canmore, which is quite near Banff.

Hi Mike - Sorry, I haven't been round much since Joshua's accident, so I'm now looking through all the pics I've missed. It looks like Rocky Mountain National Park is definitely worth a visit.

I may now be moving to Calgary, Alberta, instead of Ontario (fingers crossed), so I'm hoping it will be a better place to explore the National Parks of Canada and America from. What do you think? I joined the forum you mentioned a while ago and it seems that the best places are in the West.
